Captain Alfred Esdaille
Area Commander
Captain Alfred Esdaille serves as the first Bermudian Area Commander for The Salvation Army in Bermuda and concurrently as Corps Officer at North Street Citadel. His leadership reflects a deep commitment to faith-based service, community impact, and the mission of The Salvation Army. Before entering full-time ministry, Captain Esdaille worked for ten years with the Bermuda Land Development Company as Assistant Facilities Manager, gaining valuable experience in management and organizational development. He completed his officer training at the College for Officer Training in Winnipeg, Canada and Booth University, and was commissioned and ordained in 2016. His ministry began in British Columbia, Canada where he served five years as Corps Officer of North Vancouver Corps followed by four years at New Westminster Citadel, leading with compassion and a heart for transformation. As Area Commander, Captain Esdaille is dedicated to fostering hope, inclusion, and spiritual renewal across Bermuda’s communities.
Captain Dennis Maybury
Bermuda Regional Public Relations Officer
In June 2024, Captain Dennis Maybury stepped into a new role as the Public Relations Officer after leading Cedar Hill Corps in Warwick for the past four years. Captain Dennis also served as Chaplin at the Army’s Harbor Light Rehabilitation Center during 2020/2021. Born and raised in Bermuda, Captain Dennis has a deep connection with the island and is eager to continue fostering relationships within the local and business communities. Before his ministry, he served with the Bermuda Police for 27 years. Since being ordained in 2012, Captain Dennis and his wife Mary, and daughter Demara were stationed in Fort Frances, Ontario, as well as Glace Bay/New Waterford, and Liverpool, Nova Scotia. In his spare time, he loves to play golf and is an avid walker. For the past three years he has walked the Covex End to End and plans to participate again this year.
