Emergency Disaster Services

June to November marks Atlantic Hurricane Season Preparedness. It is a vital part of effective disaster response. In Bermuda, our Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) teams have stocked supplies and are trained and ready to respond when called upon.

Stay ahead of the storm with an emergency kit stocked and ready. During hurricane season, first responders may face challenges reaching you promptly due to fallen trees, downed powerlines, high winds and excess water. Be prepared to take care of yourself and your loved ones for at least 72 hours. Here’s a checklist to get you started:

At least two litres of water per person per day.
Non-perishable food items (canned goods, etc.) and Can opener
Battery-operated flashlight
First Aid Kit
Cash
Copy of Emergency Plan and contact information. Any necessary medication, food, and water for pets. etc.
