Cedar Hill Rally Weekend

Cedar Hill Corps took our Rally Sunday service to the park this past year. The idea and intention were to create an atmosphere for congregation members to invite their family and friends to gather together and hear the Word of God. A delicious picnic followed this in the park.

The theme for the Sunday was ‘Extend the Table’, and the anchor verse came from the Gospel of Luke 14:32, “And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel the people to come in, that my house may be filled.’”  We want to create a space where people feel welcomed and ultimately feel the love of Jesus Christ. We want to extend the table, as it were, so that all people may come to know Jesus Christ and feel a part of the faith community.

It was a beautiful, hot day, but many gathered together and shared in fellowship, fun and food! My hope is that there will be more church picnics in the park and that we continue to extend the table.
